METZ

Radio Burroughs (7/10)
Start 21:15 / End 21:50
The evening started with the Radio Burroughs having the task of warming up the audience before METZ, and they did it pretty well. Their mix of New Wave and Post-Punk is not really original but they played good songs with a melancholy and catchy melody that didn’t leave the audience indifferent. Give them a chance and listen to something here below.

METZ (8/10)
Start 22:15 / End 23:00
The venue is “Kantine Berghain”, not to be confused with the famous Berghain (amazing sound system) which raises just beside it. Here we are, in a small room with floor-level stage and a gross acoustic, if you stay just 3 m from the speakers. Not the best you can find here in Berlin at all. Even if I don’t know how, they can organize really good gigs with hype bands. Like tonight with METZ. I had read about their live shows, and how they offer an hurrycane of raw energy and… fuck, so it was! Noise Rock Post-Punk at maximal volume, played with passion sweating each gram of liquid in body. They are just three young guys from Toronto but they are as loud as one thousand pneumatic drills! Looking forward to listening to new material and to seeing METZ soon live, maybe in a more appropriate venue. Happy to have lost at least 5 dB!
