Start 21:40 / End 23:05
:Of Wand & The Moon: from Denmark had the task to open the Neo Folk evening at Bi Nuu; nevertheless it’s hard to define this band just as a support, due to the fact that both of the bands’ value and relevance in the dark scene is pretty high. The line outside the venue was impressive, hinting it was going to be one of the main dark events in Berlin since months. The audience was also the one typical of this kind of occasions; the atmosphere was also good and relaxing, while everybody was waiting for the concert to start. The six band members got on stage and offered a good show, based on their Gothic Dark Folk flavoured with Doom influences. The warm singer voice contributed to create that dark atmosphere, giving the listener the feeling of running through a wood during a full moon night. A pity the wall behind the stage; it was not suitable, since the drum and the band members covered almost completely, making it hard to distinguish the projected images.

Rome (7/10)
Start 23:40 / End 01:10
Rome comes from Luxemburg and currently plays Noir Folk, after developing this style in its last albums, almost abandoning the martial post-industrial style of the previous ones. Rome created a good involving atmosphere through the singer’s voice and the band’s music, avoiding to bore the audience and make them feel asleep. Worth to remember the peculiar drum set, which the drummer banged standing, and the retro chair where the keyboard was played. Rome even offered the audience a pair of new brand songs, which were played with just the frontman’s acoustic guitar. Although I’m not that big of a fan of the band’s latest path, this Noir Folk acquires more energy live, and it’s always a pleasure to listen to some of their older hits live. Rome’s music could be defined as the one played on the last day of a man sentenced to death, not to cheer up the victim, but the hangman.
