Reverse Grip (6/10)
Start 20:15 / End 21:00
Reverse Grip acted and played as if it were still the end of the 80s, and if Sleaze Rock still filled stadiums. Even if Reverse Grip looked like, and acted like, they were the Guns’n'Roses with their Glam Metal, it must be recognized that the singer never stopped trying to incite and engage with the partially receptive audience: therefore, respect!
Tri State Corner (7/10)
Start 21:15 / End 22:00
The band has got some members whose origins reside in Greece: it is possible to catch this cultural dependence in the language used for part of the lyrics, and in the ethnic sounds, given by peculiar percussions and an electric Bouzouki characterizing Tri State Corner. The result is really good Alternative Metal, and the singer succeeded in engaging with the whole audience, which sang along, clapping hands. Not an easy goal to reach in Berlin, when you’re not that famous and neither the headliner.
Start 22:45 / End 24:15
Lordi is not just a band, it’s pure show coming from Finland. Its catchy mix of Hard Rock, Glam and Heavy Metal lets you sing and jump the whole concert long. Each band member wears a self-made costume of foam latex, which helps to attract attention on the band, but Lordi is more than this Horror Metal circus: it has great songs, which remind a lot of the 80s, great scenic design, positive attitude, smoking skulls, cut head by axe, bat wings, squirting water chainsaw and shooting confetti voodoo dolls. What do you fucking want more for 19 Euro? This kind of gig explains the difference between listening to music at home with your hi-fi and living your favorite music live. Just great fun!
