The Treatment (6/10)
Start 21:05 / End 21:40
The Treatment, from Australia, opened the evening with its Hard Rock strongly influenced by the style of its Cousins The Datsnus. The band played fast, strong and loud, with no space for ballads and romanticism. The Treatment did a good job, filling the role to which every support band is called: warm up your neck and feet, and make you have fun for half an hour.

Mudhoney (9/10)
Start 22:05 / End 23:40
The legendary Grunge band Mudhoney, from Seattle, played at Festsaal to support its new album “Vanishing Point”. It was one of those occasions no music fan should miss. Mudhoney started spreading worldwide its sound, based on dirty and distorted sonorities, in 1988. That sound, along with similar others developed by bands of the same area in the period, was then called Grunge and went on influencing many bands from the 90s onwards. The band’s history crossed in different ways the path of many relevant bands of the Seattle scene, such as Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, The Melvins and Nirvana. During the years Mudhoney pushed its Garage Punk features and Blues Rock influences, evolving into a more Alternative Rock oriented band, although its Grunge imprint stays unaltered and still makes the band easily recognizable among the rest. The band offered an amazing performance: proper light effects, with a big Mudhoney sign on the wall behind the band, whose colours would switch from red to yellow, and a vortex of energy. The band played many songs from its latest work, among with others taken from its 20-years long discography. It was astonishing to witness how much energy all Mudhoney’s songs acquire on stage: the audience went crazy from the beginning, moshing, rocking and singing along almost every song. The band seemed to enjoy the show, as well as the atmosphere, playing its encore for almost 30 min, with powerful songs and solos by each band member. For a night everybody went home smelling like 90s, and surely with a big smile on the face.
