Voodoo Six (6/10)
Start 19:30 / End 20:10
Voodoo Six, from England like our beloved Iron Maiden, opened the show with its proposal of Hard Rock music. Although the band played nothing too original, its proposal worked quite well as an opening act. 40 minutes of good, genuine Rock are never to be wasted nowadays.

Iron Maiden (8/10)
Start 20:45 / End 22:35
Iron Maiden. What else should I say? Formed in England in 1975, this band is a pioneer of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band has produced amazing songs ever since, which keep their power and charm still in 2013. Wikipedia says that Iron Maiden is considered one of the most successful heavy metal bands in history, who could deny it? It is a band that has sold over 85 million records worldwide. The O2 Arena was not sold out, but the floor area was extremely crowded, with people jumping and singing along to support the band at its best. Within the audience you could spot 15 year old guys as well as men of the age of 60, demonstrating how Iron Maiden’s songs haven’t lost any of their appeal during the years. The setlist was composed just of classics: only the central part of the concert featuring “Afraid to shoot strangers”, “The Trooper”, until “Run to the hills” was worth the high-priced ticket; none of the attendees was sate of listening to this incredible music live. The years have passed for the band members too: once in a while there was a flaw in execution, but the members jumped and run during the entire concert as if they were kids! The light effects and the scenic design, featuring Eddie and fire, were absolutely perfect to create the magic atmosphere and to accompany the Maiden’s hits. The Arena’s acoustic were better than other times, improving from a noisy metallic sound of the first songs to an acceptable one, even if the result is sadly always under the common standard. This didn’t invalidate the show though, because the Maiden know how to stay on stage and how to realize a music party, which maintains its high quality standard. But without any doubts: fuck the War President and fuck Bon Jovi, yesterday the real show was here!
