The Virginmarys (6/10)
Start 19:00 / End 19:30
The Virginmarys are a trio from UK, which played a nice powerful alternative rock for half an hour, opening the evening. Despite the early show time, the band caught the audience’s attention; The Virginmarys deserve people to keep an eye on their work: it will be easy for Berliners, since the band will perform again in the city in a few months.

Masters of Reality (6/10)
Start 20:00 / End 20:45
Introduced by a robotic voice, which spoke for about 5 minutes, becomin a bit annoying at the end, Masters of Reality came on stage and earned their forgiveness offering the band’s famous mix of Southern Rock and Blues Rock. Singer Chris Goss’s voice wasn’t at its best, but the other band members made a great performance, above all guitarist Dave Catching, easily recognizable for his long white beard, hat and sunglasses. It was really a good luck to have the possibility to see live Masters of Reality and Queens of the Stone Age in one night!

Queens of the Stone Age (9/10)
Start 21:20 / End 23:00
Even if Queens of the Stone Age have almost completely lost their Stoner component, going for a more Alternative-Rock-oriented sound, it’s rare to see around other rock bands with such high quality and well-deserved mainstream success. Berlin welcomed the band with a sold out Zitadelle, and the band answered with a great performance: Johs Hommes above all, as frontman and leader and of this amazing rock band. Adequate light effects and a widescreen behind the band featuring comics video were a good background and image support for the band’s show. The audience went crazy from the first song to the end, singing, jumping and moshing: sweat and heat resulted in hot and stinky clouds of humidity arising from the mass! Queens of the Stone Age surely cannot complain about not having received the audience’s “heat” tonight!
