Soulground (6/10)
Start 21:15 / End 21:35
The German band had the honor to open the evening. It did its job to warm necks and feet of the crowd in the venue. Soulground played a set of songs which spread over diverse stylistic orientation: starting with straight oriented hardcore, it then proposed some nice mid-tempo songs, which reminded me of bands like Pantera, and others which seems influenced by Sludge. Soulground has a good potential and we’re waiting for more; maybe it just has to define better its sound.

downset. (8/10)
Start 22:05 / End 22:50
downset is a relevant Rapcore – Crossover bands, which survived from the 90s until today. The line up of the L.A. band has changed over the years, so that half band is composed by new members, having only Rogelio Lozano and Chris Lee as original one. downset, with its powerful mix of rap, funk, hardcore, punk, and metal tore the venue Cassiopeia apart: the audience in the first rows went completely crazy, and the band returned this love with an amazing performance. There was no rest for a large part of the audience which moshed, crow-surfed, and took the stage to sing along with Neil: a real Hardcore party for everybody! You could see the surprise and the pleasure in the band’s eyes, as well as fun and passion among the audience, since it does not happen every day to see downset live in front of you. The band played a short setlist (too short), including the new single “Forbidden” and an additional new tack, “Blind”, at the end of the show as encore. An encore, which downset was literally forced to do, because the fans blocked the members on stage, stopping the band from coming down. downset supports the Hardcore Help Foundation’s cause, collecting money to help unfortunate people and families, showing the humility and social involvement of this band. Yesterday evening, the atmosphere created and attitude of both parties were really amazing, something you can only experience in such kind of live show. Thank downset for giving us the possibility to be part of it.
