Hawk Eyes (5/10)
Start 19:40 / End 20:15
Hawk Eyes as opener was quite a disappointment for most people in the audience: the choice of an English alternative metal / metalcore band to open this evening in front of thousand people, rather than a promising  local band, maybe closer to the psycho sound of SOAD, was hard to understand. This band played boring songs, mixing screamo and melodic vocals in an awful way, creating a soup od sound. Most of the audience preferred to use its time to buy beer and pretzels, waiting for the System of a Down’s performance.

System of a Down (8/10)
Start 20:50/ End 22:10
System of a Down has been touring since 2011, when the band decided to reunite after a hiatus started in 2006. The band’s latest album is dated 2005 and the members didn’t confirmed any dates for the release of a new one, but this wasn’t a obstacle for thousands of fans who bought the not-cheap ticket making the event at the Wuhlheide a sold out one. System of a Down played for about 80 minutes, offering the audience all its best hits, and a setlist about which nobody could complain: the audience was fully involved, singing along loudly for the whole concert, jumping, moshing and starting several circle pits during the last songs. An audience which was surprisingly older than someone could have imagined, given that the band formed in 1994 and released its first album in 1998. SOAD seemed to be a bit static on stage; the graphic design was almost absent, except for a big band logo visible towards the end of the concert. The light effects were quite impressing, changing at every songs and giving the right visual support to the show. It´s not hard to find in the press bad reviews about the SOAD´s gigs: surely the sound is not all clean like on the album, and Serj’s voice hardly reached the extension and the power showed in the studio, but the energy flew with no control from stage to the whole arena, and singing along to SOAD´s songs still makes one shiver. That´s probably the most important thing in a show, and nothing else matters.
