The Octopus Project (7/10)
Start 21:15 / End 21:50
The Octopus Project, from Texas, was a perfect opening for the crazy Man or Astro-Man?, since the band was not kidding about experimentation. Its proposal consisted of Instrumental Rock, blended into electronic sounds and noises created on a keyboard, synthesizer and a theremin. The Octopus Project offered a great show, although short, where the poli-instrumentalists composing the band often exchanged instruments during the songs. The audience attention was captured mainly by Yvonne Lambert who, standing fix as a statue, played the theremin just moving her hands in the proximity of the two metal antennas, creating amazing sounds and melodies, which seemed to almost replace the voices. This band deserves for sure something more than the support role!

Man or Astro-Man? (8/10)
Start 22:15 / End 23:20
The prolific band Man or Astro-Man? came directly from outer space to present at Lido in Berlin its latest work “Defcon 5 4 3 2 1″; it is the latest album of a long list, since the band started releasing in the early 90s. The show offered by Man or Astro-Man? confirmed the fame of its wild live performance: on the small space left onstage, due to the installation of two lateral widescreens for image projection, Man or Astro-Man? gave its best for about 60 minutes, proposing songs from the whole discography, and from the latest album. The drummer Birdstuff left often the drum set to go in front of the stage to tell stories, warming the audience with the collaboration of guitarist Star Crunch. An audience completely kidnapped by the Space Surf Rock mixed with Punk Rock and additional spacey sounds coming from the electronic instrument theremin, which never stopped dancing. A one hour intense show which testified, although not necessarily, the high quality of this band.
