Sebastian Dega (6/10)
Start 20:10 / End 20:25
Berlin-based artist Sebastian Dega opened the night playing his acoustic guitar while accompanied by drums, and letting his interesting voice enhance the performance. He proposed nice and catchy Folk songs which did the job of preparing the atmosphere for the night well.

Midlake (7/10)
Start 21:00 / End 22:20
The American band Midlake is going to release its fourth album “Antiphon” in a few days, fact that makes the band’s current live tour the perfect occasion to check some of the new material. The venue ‘Lido’ wasn’t as full as for other events, maybe also because of the coincidence of this performance with some other big acts’ shows in Berlin. Composed by former Jazz scholars, Midlake started as a Jazz band to then evolve into an Indie Rock band strongly influenced by Psychedelic and Folk Rock, as the latest album can testify. Listening to the new songs is even more interesting, because the lead vocalist and songwriter Tim Smith left Midlake to form a new project called Harp. What Midlake proposed was a good mix of songs from the old albums and 4/5 new songs, which didn’t show any revolution to the band’s sound, keeping its characteristic features and Folk flavour. Surprisingly, Midlake didn’t play some of its most famous songs, but it was worth to pay the ticket price even just to listen to the closing song. It is impossible to express a complete opinion about the new stuff, since the band gave us a too little taste of it, but Midlake showed to be fit and to have overcome Smith’s leaving. One thing is sure: the show increased the curiosity of the audience about the new upcoming album.
