Peculiaroso (6/10)
Start 21:45 / End 22:40
Opening act of this evening is a peculiar artist, known as Peculiaroso. He is musician, author and performer of his own music and that of other artists such as Son House, Fela Kuti, Leadbelly, Ry Cooder, Sun Ra.
Alone on stage, he is a sort of “one man band” playing several different instruments, but mainly guitar and percussions. He then records those sounds, adding up each one of them like modules and thus composing the structure of the song.
His performance is bizarre and surprises the audience, leaving it astonished. For sure, this is an unusual start.

Capsula (8/10)
Start 22:50 / End 00:15
Music & art mix at Urban Spree, a multi-use space which is located inside the famous RAW-Gelände in Friedrichshain.
Its raw and spare interiors offer the best location for the rough sounds of garage psychedelic rock band Capsula to spread and fill the space. Their concert inaugurates also a new era for the venue, which is now producing its own music events under the new entity US and striving to push forward music in several genres.
Now based in Spain but originally coming from Argentina, Capsula are currently touring Europe to present their new album “Solar Secrets” published in 2013 and produced by Tony Visconti.
Like a punch in the face, their powerful guitar riffs open the concert, as most of the songs in the setlist, and drag the audience into this angry garage mood. The guitar is distorted, the sounds rough, the vocals scratching.
Their music has been strongly influenced by 1960s American psychedelic rock. Traces of it may be found in songs such as “Dark Age”, which intro reminds us of the atmospheres and the tunes of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Capsula line-up, as a power trio, also recalls that glorious time in rock history.
The shy crowd is gradually involved in the music, up to an exploding pogo stirred by feverish lead singer and guitarist Martin Guevara. He jumps, comes down from the stage among the crowd while still playing his guitar and even sticks a microphone in his mouth.
Meanwhile the massive bass lines by the tough Coni Duchess in songs as “Seven Crimes” hypnotize the crowd and prepare the ground for the final wild dances.
Described as live animals, Capsula are definitely a band which you may want to see right on stage, where they give their best.
