Lymbyc Systym (7/10)
Start 21:00 / End 21:50
Lymbyc Systym is an American project formed in 2001 by the brothers Jared and Michael Bell. Although the band modified its name paying homage to Lynyrd Skynyrd, the similarities are limited to the name, because Lymbyc Systym sound is mainly based on a mix of Ambient, Electronic and Instrumental Rock. The Bell brothers are also friend of This Will Destroy You, together have already toured in the past and some years ago they released the split Ep Field Studies. Once the duo came to the stage, they delighted the audience with its music, realized playing drums and keyboard on an electronic programmed base. The result was a delicate, dreamy and intimate atmosphere, like a long walk in a park colored by the autumn. An elegant performance, well received by the audience and enhanced by the contribution of the bass of Dono of TWDY in the last song.

This Will Destroy You (8/10)
Start 22:10 / End 23:40
This Will Destroy You formed in 2005 in Texas, and with just its third album, “Another Language”, coming out in about a week, has become one of the most appreciated bands in the Instrumental Rock niche. Even if the new songs are already at disposal on Pitchfork for a pre-listening, surely big was the curiosity among many attendees to listen live to the new pieces, especially after some band’s declarations where described the new sound as darker and heavier, referring to it as “doomgaze”. All the doubts were blown away when the band came to the stage and opened with the new “Dustism”. Together with other 3-4 new presented songs (worth to be mentioned “Invitation”, where Lymbyc Systym accompanied TWDY at keyboard and percussions), the new material confirmed the rumors and shown TWDY even fresher and interesting regarding the songwriting. This Will Destroy You selected pieces from the other albums and managed to hypnotize the audience, that followed often with closed eyes and dangling to the gently ambient soundscapes, changing then compulsively when TWDY build-up its well-known “wall of noise” crescendo. After a two pieces encore, where This Will Destroy You delighted its fans with “They Move on Tracks of Never-Ending Light” and “Quiet”, the Texan band left the stage showing, if necessary, that in 2014 the Instrumental Rock can still bring some interesting surprises!
