Don McGreevy & Rogier Smal Duo (7/10)
Start 20:00 / End 20:30
Even if his name could result unknown, Don McGreevy is one of the founding members of Master Musicians of Bukkake, bassist for Earth, and he has released an album “Aichmophobia” just last month. In his opening set of acoustic guitar music was accompanied by the drummer Rogier Smal, and both had the chance to show their skills as musicians. With acoustic 6 and 12 strings guitars, Don painted fluid landscapes, but even melodies that reminded to a kind of soundtrack for thriller movies. The result was appreciated by the audience and after half hour the duo left the stage to Black Spirituals, without any pause, creating an interesting and funny scene.

Black Spirituals (8/10)
Start 20:30 / End 21:00
Black Spirituals is an American duo, that deals with improvisation and experimental sounds. The band released last October its debut album “Of Deconstruction”, which was mastered even by the legendary Drone king James Plotkin. The duo has taken the band name from a cassette documenting a lecture given by Bernice Reagon on the roots music of American Black Slaves, as its biography reported, and this gives already a first idea of the band proposal: a powerful litany inspired by the ancients to revenge them with drone sounds and explosive drumming. Zachary James Watkins with guitar and synthesizer, and Marshall Trammell on drums were able to create an impressive atmosphere, mixing Noise, Jazz and avant improvisation. The audience exploded in an applause every time they had the occasion, showing its appreciation to the duo proposal. A non-conventional project with something interesting to say: don’t miss Black Spirituals if you have the chance

Earth (8/10)
Start 21:15 / End 22:40
Earth is an American band, formed in 1989, where the guitarist Dylan Carlson has kept till today the leading role. Long story short, it could be said that Dylan Carlson is Earth and vice versa. After a hiatus in 1997, Earth came back again in 2003, and its latest album “Primitive and Deadly”was released on Southern Lord just last summer. If Earth sound was at the beginning more featured by minimalism, droning and distortion, the last years it have seen the introduction of country and folk elements, that have brought the Earth’s proposal forward. In the end it doesn’t matter: a riff of Dylan is easily recognizable among thousands, the Drone-heavy experimentation, the slow tempos, the repetition were always there and impregnated every songs. Earth opened with “Badgers Bane”, proposing then many pieces from the latest album, like “There Is A Serpent coming” and the conclusive “Torn By The Fox of the Crescent Moon”. Remarkable was the old song “Ouroboros Is Broken”, where Dylan & Co. reminded to everyone that they are still the Majesty of Drone Metal. Accompanied by Adrienne Davies on drums and by Don on bass, Dylan remained the key character of this band, focusing on him the attention of all the attendees, witched by the sounds coming out his guitar: either funeral marches, or ancestral anthems, the result was an hypnotic liturgy able to go inside everybody who was listening. Long life to the Drone Masters!
