Erica Mou (8/10)
Start 20:45 / End 22:15
Erica Mou is the stage name of the young Italian singer-songwriter Erica Musci. Erica, although her young age, has already won several music awards in Italy, attended a Sanremo Festival edition in 2012 among the young proposals, released her third album “Contro Le Onde” on Sugar Records in 2013 and toured intensively in many different countries, not only in Europe but also in U.S. And China. The Berlin date at the Mondolibro bookshop was part of its European tour that is touching Germany, Belgium and France. This acoustic show took place in the unrefined basement of the shop, with some lines of chairs for the audience placed before a stool and a mic. Erica started singing and strumming away on her guitar, and she needed really few minutes to conquer the heart of the audience with her particular melodic voice, her interesting and not banal own-composed lyrics and music, featured by strong Folk-Rock influences mixed with the traditional Italian Pop music.
The intimate show was set by Erica without a fixed setlist but was build together with requests coming from the audience and some tests, as Erica herself said, where different songs of the upcoming new album were presented. Erica was able to create an easy and enjoyable atmosphere, speaking gently to the attendees and joking with them about the difficulties of the German language. At the end it’s always the music what it matters and Erica Mou confirmed also in a basement with just her guitar and her magic voice that she is without any doubts one of most talented singer-songwriters that Italy has produced since years. If she’s coming near you, give her a chance and she will kidnap your heart with her innocent grace and sensual irony.
