Classic Muscle (6/10)
Start 21:15 / End 21:40
Classic Muscle is a relative young German band formed in 2013 that was invited to open the evening. The trio offered an interesting set of Indie Rock, featured by reverberated vocals and melodic but tight guitars riffs. In the end its music, even if not easily accessible, was able to catch the attention and to warm the audience’s feet.

Screaming Females (8/10)
Start 22:00 / End 22:55
Screaming Females is an American band from New Jersey, formed in 2006 and headed by the charismatic singer and guitarist Marissa Paternoster. The trio released its new and sixth album “Rose Mountain” last February on Don Giovanni Records under the production of Matt Bayles instead of Steve Albini as on the previous records. Although the different production is evident on the album, the live set proposed by Screaming Females was full of energy, powerful and straightforward. The tiny Marissa impressed with her guitar work that was able to merge melodic passages with buzzy tones, spitting out catchy riffs and intense full-out guitar solos. The rhythmic session composed by King Mike on bass guitar and Jarrett Dougherty on drums allowed to propose a great show supporting Marissa with impressive accuracy and big impact.
About 55 minutes of this kind of Rock are unfortunately not enough to eat your fill, and when Screaming Females left the stage after one song encore, requested intensely by the audience in the Kantine, everybody was sad by the awareness of waiting at least a couple of years before seeing this amazing band again live here in Berlin.
