Deathrite (7/10)
Start 21:00 – End 21:35
Deathrite is a German band, formed in 2010, that is going to release its third album “Revelation Of Chaos” this month on Prosthetic Records. Bastard sons of bands like Napalm Death, Deathrite acted as a perfect opener, warming the audience with its mix of Death Metal and Grindcore. Thanks to an interesting and variegated songwriting, the German quartet got easily the attention of everybody with furious pieces, alternated to mid-tempo songs, that never bored the audience. Deathrite will give without doubts a lot of satisfactions in future to every extreme music lover!

Napalm Death (8/10)
Start 22:00 – End 23:20
The name Napalm Death doesn’t need any presentation to any person who had contact with the extreme Metal. Pioneers of the Grindcore, the British-American band formed in 1981 and, even if today there’s no one in the band of the original line-up (furthermore the guitarist Mitch Harris hasn’t taken part to this tour for family issues) keeps alive and high the brand of this sonic assault. The band is now touring intensively in Europe to promote its latest release “Apex Predator – Easy Meat”, out this January, well acclaimed by fans and press. Once Napalm Death appeared on stage, the SO36 was already full of enthusiastic fans that didn’t expect anything else but be destroyed by the annihilating sound of Napalm Death. Opening with the new “Multinational Corporations”, these holy glories confirmed that they don’t have still today any rivals in what is become its indelible trademark: “heavily distorted, down-tuned guitars, grinding overdrive bass, high speed tempo, blast beats, and vocals which consist of incomprehensible growls, or high-pitched shrieks, extremely short songs, fast tempos, and sociopolitical lyrics”. The band showed a great condition, offering an enthusiastic and energetic performance, where Mark screamed like a damned, rocked his body to the double-bass rhythm, and created a connection with the audience introducing almost each song. In the end how you can’t love this band, its ear-splitting intensity, its sonic assault and its merciless brutality: all held in the manifesto song “You Suffer” – the shortest song in the world – that was given by Mark & Co. as present even two times during the show. It’s tough to describe what a Napalm Death show means, you need simply to attend it and you won’t regret at all. It’s 2015 but the world still needs Napalm Death.
