Scorpion Child (7/10)
Start 20:00 – End 20:45
Scorpion Child is an American Hard-Rock band, that started already in 2013 with its self-titled album to gain worldwide appreciation. Still in the roster of Nuclear Blast, Scorpion Child is going to release its sophomore album “Acid Roulette” this June and now has the great chance to enlarge its fan base touring in Europe as support for Monster Magnet. Five skilled musicians, guitar, drums, bass, keyboards and a lot of passion and sweat are simple but essential ingredients for a great Hard Rock show: Scorpion Child confirmed on stage to have all of them. With a good mix of 70s-Hard Rock, Classic Heavy Metal and Southern Psych-Rock, the Texan band offered an epic show that was well appreciated by the audience. We are sure to see them soon live in Berlin promoting their new upcoming album, in the meantime we won’t be surprised to see them in the new HBO’s TV-series “Vinyl”: Scorpion Child will fit perfectly!

Monster Magnet (9/10)
Start 21:20 – End 22:50
Monster Magnet is today one of the most seminal Stoner Rock bands of the world. Period. This should be enough to understand the hype behind every Berlin show. In the last years Monster Magnet is also active releasing new versions of its previous albums: the latest one was Cobras & Fire (The Mastermind Redux), out in 2015, where a 60s-vibe was given to the old pieces with swirling, sprawling, and space-psychedelic effects. Furthermore the band is currently touring to celebrate the A&M years, that means, long story short, maybe the most relevant albums of its long career: from Superjudge in 1993, passing through Dopes To Infinity and Powertrip, till God Says No in 2000. Four albums that made the history of Stoner Rock. The live version of these songs are simply pure energy: you can’t ask better than an opening with “Crop Circle” and “Powertrip”! Dave Wyndorf and the other memebers showed an excellent form and the pleasure to play in front of the Berlin audience. Songs as “Superjudge” and “Look to Your Orb for the Warning” set the venue on fire and then Punk-oriented pieces like “Dinosaur Vacuum” and “Tractors” burnt everything down. The climax was reached with “Dopes To Infinity” and “Space Lord”, where all the fans were kidnapped in a trip to the outer space! Monster Magnet offered at the end an encore to thank the warm and full-of-love Berlin audience: the final “Negasonic Teenage Warhead” was alone worth the ticket price and restated why Monster Magnet are the undiscussed Kings of Stoner Rock!
